I stay in a beautiful complex, it used to be beautiful...until a few months ago people have been using the building as their own dustbin. Every floor u climb u'll find red spit marks....it disgusts u. u'll see shiny wrappers, food stuff, etc etc. Dude my window neighbour is the biggest spitter. The tin roof of the floor below has become so red. yucckk! Twice I had told them to stop spitting n throwing things, which obviously fell on deaf ears! My friend from the building itself who stays a few floors below me has a different view from mine n her side is worse. People throw sanitary napkins also yaar...come on! I feel shameful writing this over here, how they don't feel ashamed throwing it...uff! Anyway so my friend n me reached the point of frustration n decided to make people aware of this, taking the help of the chairperson (well the chairperson has done enough already). So my friend n me printed out a pamphlet saying,' to keep clean n if anyone witnesses anyone throwing, spitting pls complain to the society office.'
Then we went to the chairperson to get her signature. She agreed n was glad tht we were doing this cuz she's so damn frustrated telling the residents on n on abt keeping the place clean. Then we made copies n knocked on every door n explained...most of them nodded, agreed n denied. some screamed so tht others could hear, ' I know! what junglee people stay here'...n we were content with what we did. we stuck the pamphlet in the elevators too.
After a week....the pamphlets disappeared from the elevators. The cleaners do the regular cleaning of the building n the amount of kacchra tht was collected from one building was unbelievable. My neighbours still spit, still litter. People in my building still spit, still litter. I wonder who went n complained to the society office!

I felt really nice!
I stayed for a few days at my eldest sister's place, just a few buildings away from mine. She was not well, was advised bed rest for 2 weeks. n so she needed my help around the house. I have two nieces aged 12 n 3....n it was maddening staying there n telling them what to do n what not to do n well they did listen to me. Anyway so on one of those days.... it was a lazy Sunday afternoon I was lying on the bed n was talking to Didi, n Jazs my older niece joined the conversation, was half listening n talking n whatever...then Zenbi my younger niece came on the bed n was doing masti as always.....wants to be close to her mother. So as we were talking...didi was telling Jazs how when I (as in me) was little she used to look after me n play n all with me (the age difference between my eldest sister n me is 12 yrs) .
So she was telling Jazs that when she (as in didi) won't be there, then she (Jazs) has to take care of Zenbi n all. So didi was explaining this to Zenbi. So didi says, " If i am not there Zenbi who will look after you?" and Zenbi sitting on didi's stomach pointing her little index finger at me. I smile. Didi, Jazs laughs n didi says, "oh ho! No Zenbi your didi will look after u!" then after a minute didi asks Zenbi again in Hindi this time, " Jab mammam nahi hai toh kaun tumhe school leke jayega?" still sitting on didi's stomach points her little finger at me again....and I was all smiling n feeling really nice. I am still smiling.
